Robotech

Robotech course helps children develop logical thinking, critical thinking, teamwork skills and communication skills through assembling, programming and operating robots.

1. Fundamentals of Programming and Engineering for Robotics - Assembling, programming thinking and diagram design with Robotics Path Assemblies Kit: Students use different pieces to construct the path for robot as required; then, programming by using the intuitive drag-drop programming language.

2. Computer Science - Basic Computing skill and Exploring C++ language: is the fundamental step to learn programming. Through blocks drag-and-drop action, velocity calculations, reasonable timing, and Project-based Learning models, students can create their own software products, applications, stories, and games.

3. Robot Technology Curriculum is condensed according to Japanese New Education Program - STEM(*): Lessons are designed in project form (group project) that integrate knowledge of Maths and Science and Technology which arouse exploring curiosity, self-reflection and correction by changing the design or programming parameters.

(*)STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

Students will learn about:

Developing logic thinking and concepts

  • Concepts of basic programming for robot control
  • Functions of engines and sensors
  • Basic technical concepts of velocity, times etc.

Developing software skills and hardware skills

  • Basic principles of programming languages
  • Path planning and navigation for robots

Developing other soft skills for the future

  • Implementation skills;
  • Communication skill through activities of presenting product ideas;
  • Critical thinking and confidence building through open discussion and presenting individual points of view and arguments;
  • Problem-solving skills by finding optimal path solution for robot on demand;
  • Teamwork skills through listening, sharing, cooperating, and providing constructive feedback to improve the efficiency of the whole team.

Students will learn about:

What is special about this course?

Student-centric class, comprised of 10 to 15 students and 1 teacher (+ 2 teaching assistants) as a coach strictly following each student’s performance

  • Project-based Learning model: Students are received topics to solve and work on the implementation of ideas;
  • Integrated 4 primary skills: Communication - Critical Thinking - Problem Solving - Teamwork in all lessons and in-class activities.

Furthermore, students will gain more self-confidence, improve systematic reasoning, cultivate the habit of self-reflection and self-improvement.
